人生苦短理当及时行乐,但是,生活上的诸多事物却常教人触景生情,对于在洛杉矶圣法兰多山谷地区长大的John Ondrasik而言,他就希望能结合一群音乐人与非音乐人的力量热情地去实践歌曲与意念的真谛,于是他就以Five For Fighting作为笔名/艺名,融合自己身为钢琴家/讽刺作家/时事评论家的多重身分,借着Five For Fighting(*原是曲棍球罚则,指的是被罚下场五分钟等候再度上场的球员)隐喻挑战音乐工业这只庞然巨兽,努力地让别人听见自己的歌曲,却能依然保有不平凡与诚实的精神,同时也是Ondrasik抒怀、吶喊与谴责态度的表征。
